Safety Information

Read all instructions before operating. Always wear appropriate safety gear.

  1. Clear mowing area of debris, toys, and obstacles before starting.
  2. Never allow children or pets near the mower while in operation.
  3. Do not mow on slopes greater than 15 degrees; mow up and down slopes, not across.
  4. Always engage parking brake before dismounting.
  5. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts, especially the cutting deck.

DANGER! Gasoline is flammable. Refuel outdoors only when engine is cool. Do not smoke near fuel.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Install steering wheel: Align and tighten bolt.
  2. Attach seat: Place seat on post, secure with provided hardware.
  3. Install battery: Connect red (+) then black (-) terminals.
  4. Add engine oil: Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 (check manual for capacity).
  5. Add gasoline: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane or higher).
  6. Check tire pressure: Inflate to 14 PSI (front) and 10 PSI (rear).

CAUTION! Ensure all bolts are tightened securely. Test all controls before first use.

Controls & Operation

Familiarize yourself with controls before starting.

Dashboard: Ignition key, Headlight switch, PTO (Blade Engage) lever, Cruise control button, Hour meter.

Starting Procedure: 1. Sit on seat. 2. Engage parking brake. 3. Set PTO to OFF. 4. Move throttle to FAST. 5. Turn key to START. 6. Release key once engine starts.

Cutting Deck Operation

The 46-inch deck offers three discharge options.

  1. Mulching: Install mulch plug. Cuts clippings finely and returns them to lawn.
  2. Bagging: Attach grass bagger to rear chute. Collects clippings for disposal.
  3. Side-Discharge: Remove mulch plug and bagger. Ejects clippings to the side.
  4. Height Adjustment: Use lever to set desired cutting height (1.5-4 inches).
  5. Engaging Blades: Ensure throttle is at FAST. Pull PTO lever to engage.

Tip: For best results, mow when grass is dry and never remove more than 1/3 of grass height at once.

Engine Care

Proper engine maintenance is critical for reliability.

  1. Oil Change: Run engine to warm oil. Drain via drain plug. Refill with 48 oz of SAE 30 or 10W-30.
  2. Air Filter: Replace paper filter every 50 hours; clean foam pre-filter every 25 hours.
  3. Spark Plug: Gap at 0.030 inches. Replace every 100 hours or annually.
  4. Fuel System: Use fresh gasoline. Add fuel stabilizer for storage over 30 days.
  5. Cooling Fins: Keep engine shroud and cooling fins clean of debris.

WARNING! Disconnect spark plug wire before performing any maintenance.

Storage & Winterization

Prepare mower for off-season storage to prevent damage.

  1. Clean entire mower, especially underside of deck.
  2. Change engine oil and filter.
  3. Add fuel stabilizer to tank, run engine for 5 minutes to circulate.
  4. Disconnect battery negative terminal; store battery in cool, dry place.
  5. Store in a dry, covered location, preferably on a level surface.

CAUTION! Do not store with fuel in tank for more than 30 days without stabilizer.
