Safety Instructions

Read and understand all safety instructions before operating.

  1. Always wear appropriate safety gear: eye protection, sturdy shoes, and hearing protection.
  2. Clear the mowing area of debris, rocks, and toys before starting.
  3. Never allow children or untrained persons to operate the tractor.
  4. Do not operate on slopes greater than 15 degrees to prevent tipping.
  5. Disengage PTO and set parking brake before dismounting.

WARNING! Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a deadly gas. Never operate in an enclosed area. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts.

Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools.

  1. Install steering wheel: Align and secure with provided hardware.
  2. Attach seat: Mount to frame using bolts and washers.
  3. Connect battery: Attach red (+) then black (-) cables.
  4. Check tire pressure: Inflate to 12 PSI (front) and 10 PSI (rear).
  5. Add engine oil: Use SAE 10W-30, fill to dipstick "Full" mark.
  6. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

CAUTION! Ensure tractor is on a level surface during assembly and fluid checks.

Maintenance Schedule

  1. Before each use: Check engine oil level, tire pressure, and fuel level.
  2. Every 8 hours: Clean cutting deck underside, check for loose hardware.
  3. Every 50 hours: Change engine oil and filter, check air filter, grease fittings.
  4. Every 100 hours: Replace spark plugs, check battery terminals, inspect belts.
  5. Every season: Sharpen/replace blades, check transmission fluid, inspect tires.

Cutting Deck Operation

The 54-inch fabricated deck provides a clean, even cut.

  1. Engaging Deck: Start engine, move throttle to full, pull PTO lever upward.
  2. Cutting Height: Adjust lever to desired setting (1.5 to 4.5 inches).
  3. Mowing Patterns: Overlap each pass by 2-3 inches for even cutting.
  4. Disengaging: Push PTO lever down, allow blades to stop completely.
  5. Removing Deck: Lower deck, disconnect drive belt, remove retaining pins.

WARNING! Always disengage PTO and wait for all movement to stop before crossing driveways, gravel, or inspecting the deck.

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Add fuel stabilizer to tank and run engine for 5 minutes.
  2. Change engine oil and filter at end of season.
  3. Remove battery, clean terminals, and store in a cool, dry place on a trickle charger.
  4. Clean entire tractor thoroughly, especially the cutting deck underside.
  5. Store in a dry, covered location, preferably on wooden blocks to relieve tire pressure.

CAUTION! Never store tractor with fuel in the tank for more than 30 days without stabilizer.
