Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Align handle halves, insert bolts, tighten securely.
  2. Install grass bag: Attach bag support brackets to deck, hook bag onto brackets.
  3. Connect drive cable: Route cable through handle, attach to drive lever.
  4. Install height adjustment lever: Attach to deck bracket, connect linkage.
  5. Add engine oil: Fill with SAE 30 detergent oil (20 oz. capacity).
  6. Add gasoline: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Do not add gasoline during assembly. Keep away from sparks or flames.

First-Time Setup

Complete assembly, then prepare for first use.

  1. Check oil level: Ensure oil is at full mark on dipstick.
  2. Check tire pressure: Inflate to 15 PSI (front) and 20 PSI (rear).
  3. Adjust handle height: Set to comfortable operating position.
  4. Test controls: Verify drive engagement, speed control, and blade brake operation.
  5. Start engine: Follow starting procedure in manual.

Handle Controls: Drive lever, speed control, blade brake/clutch control, height adjustment lever.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Push primer bulb 3 times (cold engine).
  3. Set throttle to FAST position.
  4. Pull recoil starter cord firmly.

Operating: Engage drive lever to move forward. Adjust speed with control lever. To stop, release drive lever and blade brake control.

Stopping: Release blade brake control to stop blade. Move throttle to STOP position.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjustment for all four wheels.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever toward wheel.
  3. Move lever to desired height position (1-6).
  4. Release lever to lock in position.

Height Positions: 1 (1.25"), 2 (1.75"), 3 (2.25"), 4 (2.75"), 5 (3.25"), 6 (3.75").

Tip: For first cut of season, set to highest position. Never remove more than 1/3 of grass height at once.

Storage Guidelines

End-of-season storage preparation:

  1. Drain fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer.

  5. Remove spark plug, add 1 oz oil to cylinder, pull starter cord slowly.
  6. Store in clean, dry place, covered.
