Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install upper handle: Connect to lower handle, tighten knobs.
  3. Attach grass bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck brackets, ensure secure latch.
  4. Install side discharge chute (if not mulching): Snap into place on deck opening.
  5. Add engine oil: Use SAE 30 (approx. 20 oz) – check dipstick.
  6. Add gasoline: Use fresh unleaded (87 octane minimum), fill to indicated level.

Starting & Stopping Procedure

Starting (Cold Engine):

  1. Move throttle to FAST position.
  2. Pull choke knob out fully.
  3. Prime engine (if equipped) by pressing primer bulb 3 times.
  4. Grip starter handle and pull cord briskly until engine starts.
  5. After engine starts, push choke knob in halfway until engine warms, then fully in.

Starting (Warm Engine): Skip choke; throttle to FAST; pull starter cord.

Stopping: Release drive bail to stop blade. Move throttle to STOP position. Wait for all moving parts to stop before leaving mower.

Tip: If engine does not start after 3 pulls, wait 2 minutes and repeat.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjustment: Move lever to one of 6 positions (marked 1-6 or height indicators).

  1. Stop engine and ensure blade is not rotating.
  2. Lift adjustment lever up and move to desired position.
  3. Lower lever to lock into place.
  4. Check all wheels are at same height.

Recommended heights: 2.5"-3" for normal lawns; higher for uneven terrain or wet grass.
