Safety Information

Assembly & Setup

  2. Install grass bag: Attach bagger frame to rear deck, secure bag.
  3. Add oil: Use SAE 30 detergent oil (approx. 20 oz). Check dipstick.
  4. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane min).
  5. Check tire pressure: Inflate to 15 PSI.

CAUTION! Ensure all bolts are tightened securely. Do not operate without proper oil and fuel levels.

Controls and Operation

Handle Controls: Drive control lever, height adjustment lever, engine control (stop switch).

Starting: 1. Check oil/fuel. 2. Prime engine (3-5 presses). 3. Set throttle to FAST. 4. Pull recoil starter. Stopping: Release drive lever, move throttle to STOP, wait for blade to stop.

Height Adjustment: Move single lever to desired position (1-6). Drive Control: Squeeze lever to engage drive; release to stop. Bagging/Mulching: Install or remove bag/chute as needed.

Cutting System

3-in-1 System: Convert between mulching, bagging, and side discharge.

  1. Mulching: Install mulch plug; grass clippings cut finely and returned to lawn.
  2. Bagging: Attach grass bag; clippings collected for disposal.
  3. Side Discharge: Install discharge chute; clippings ejected to side.

Tip: For best results, mow when grass is dry and never remove more than 1/3 of blade height.

Engine Operation

Briggs & Stratton 550EXi: Air-cooled, 4-cycle, overhead valve.

  1. Oil: Check before each use; change every 25 hours or seasonally.
  2. Fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline; add fuel stabilizer for storage.
  3. Air Filter: Clean every 25 hours; replace if damaged.
  4. Spark Plug: Check/gap every season (0.030 inches).
  5. Starting: Prime, set choke (if cold), pull starter firmly.

WARNING! Never run engine indoors; ensure area is well-ventilated.
