Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts and inspect for damage. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install upper handle: Connect to lower handle, tighten knobs.
  3. Attach grass bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck brackets.
  4. Install side discharge chute (if using): Attach to discharge opening.
  5. Add engine oil: Use SAE 30 detergent oil (approx. 20 oz).
  6. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane or higher).

WARNING! Wear gloves during assembly. Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation.

Safety Precautions

Always follow safety guidelines to prevent injury.

  2. Clear mowing area of debris, rocks, and toys.
  3. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and eye protection.
  4. Do not mow wet grass or in poor visibility.

Controls and Operation

Handle Controls: Drive control lever (right), Height adjustment lever (center), Engine control lever (left).

Starting: 1. Push primer bulb 3 times (cold engine). 2. Set engine control to FAST. 3. Pull recoil starter firmly. Stopping: Release drive control, set engine control to STOP. Height Adjustment: Move single lever to desired position (1-6). Drive Control: Squeeze lever to engage drive; release to stop.

Cutting System Setup

3-in-1 system allows mulching, bagging, or side discharge.

  1. Mulching: Install mulch plug in discharge opening. Grass clippings are cut finely and returned to lawn.
  2. Bagging: Attach grass bag to rear brackets. Collects clippings for disposal.
  3. Side Discharge: Install discharge chute. Ejects clippings to side (for tall/wet grass).

Tip: For best results, mow when grass is dry and never cut more than 1/3 of grass height at once.

  4. Fuel: Use fresh unleaded gas. Add fuel stabilizer for storage over 30 days.

WARNING! Never check or add fuel while engine is running or hot.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage extends mower life.

  1. Clean underside of deck thoroughly.
  2. Drain fuel tank or add fuel stabilizer and run engine 2 minutes.
  3. Change oil if near service interval.
  4. Remove spark plug, add 1 tablespoon oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly to coat.
  5. Store in dry, covered area, preferably on level surface.
  6. Cover mower to protect from dust.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in tank indoors or near open flame.
