Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools.

  1. Install steering wheel: Align and tighten bolt.
  2. Attach seat: Mount using provided bolts and washers.
  3. Connect battery: Attach red (+) then black (-) cables.
  4. Install cutting deck: Align with deck lift arms and secure with pins.
  5. Check tire pressure: Inflate to 15 PSI (front) and 10 PSI (rear).
  6. Add engine oil and fuel: Use SAE 30 oil (48 oz) and unleaded gasoline.

WARNING! Tractor is heavy; use assistance during assembly. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.

Operation Instructions

Before starting, perform pre-operation checks.

  1. Pre-operation: Check oil level, fuel, tire pressure, and cutting deck clearance.
  2. Starting: Sit on seat, set parking brake, move PTO to OFF, turn key to START.
  3. Driving: Release parking brake, press brake pedal to disengage transmission lock, use forward/reverse pedals.
  4. Mowing: Engage PTO switch to activate blades, adjust speed as needed.
  5. Stopping: Disengage PTO, set parking brake, turn key to OFF.

CAUTION! Always engage parking brake on slopes. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts.

  3. Every 50 hours: Change oil, replace spark plug, lubricate deck spindles.
  4. Every 100 hours: Replace air filter, check transmission fluid.
  5. Seasonally: Sharpen/replace blades, clean deck, check battery.

Tip: Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing maintenance.

Cutting Deck Adjustment

Proper deck leveling ensures even cut.

  1. Park on level surface, set cutting height to 3 inches.
  2. Measure blade tip height from ground at all four corners of deck.
  3. Adjust deck hangers: Turn lift link nuts to raise/lower each side.
  4. Re-check measurements until all corners are within 1/4 inch.
  5. Test mow and adjust if necessary.

WARNING! Disengage PTO and turn off engine before adjusting deck.

Storage & Winterization

Prepare tractor for off-season storage.

  1. Clean deck and underside thoroughly.
  2. Change engine oil and run engine briefly to circulate.
  3. Add fuel stabilizer to tank and run for 5 minutes.
  4. Disconnect battery and store in cool, dry place.
  5. Store in covered, dry location; block up deck if possible.

CAUTION! Do not store with fuel in carburetor without stabilizer.
