Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts. Assembly requires basic tools (included: adjustable wrench, screwdriver).

  1. Handle Attachment: Align lower handle with deck brackets. Secure with provided bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Upper Handle: Attach upper handle to lower handle using bolts. Adjust to desired height.
  3. Control Cable: Connect drive control cable to engine bracket and handle lever as per diagram.
  4. Bagging System: Attach rear bagger to deck hooks. Ensure chute is properly seated.
  5. Side Discharge Chute: Install if not using bagger or mulcher.
  6. Add Oil & Gas: Fill engine with SAE 30 detergent oil (20 oz). Add unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Do not start engine until assembly is complete and all fasteners are tight.

Operation Guide

Steps for safe and effective mowing.

  1. Pre-Start Check: Check oil level. Ensure blade is sharp and secure. Clear mowing area.
  2. Starting Engine:
    • Move engine control lever to START (choke).
    • Prime engine by pressing primer bulb 3 times (cold start).
    • Hold blade control bail against handle.
    • Pull recoil starter firmly.
    • Once engine starts, move control lever to FAST.
  3. Engaging Drive: Squeeze drive control lever to move forward. Adjust speed with dial.
  4. Cutting Height: Set height lever before starting. Do not adjust while engine is running.
  5. 3-in-1 Function: Install bagger for collection, mulching plug for recycling, or side chute for discharging.
  6. Stopping: Release blade control bail to stop blade. Move engine control to STOP. Turn fuel valve OFF if storing.

CAUTION! Always mow in daylight with good visibility. Wear sturdy shoes and eye protection.

Storage Instructions

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. End-of-Season:
    • Run engine to burn remaining fuel in carburetor OR add fuel stabilizer to tank and run for 5 minutes.
    • Change engine oil.
    • Remove spark plug, add 1 oz of oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly to coat, reinstall plug.
    • Clean mower thoroughly, especially underside.
    • Sharpen blade and coat with light oil to prevent rust.
  2. Long-Term: Store in a clean, dry place. Cover mower to keep dust off.
  3. Battery (if electric start model): Remove battery and store fully charged in a cool, dry location.
