Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools.

  1. Install steering wheel: Align and tighten bolt.
  2. Attach seat: Place on mounting bracket, secure with provided bolts.
  3. Connect battery: Attach red (+) then black (-) cables.
  4. Add engine oil: Use SAE 30 (check manual for capacity).
  5. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane or higher).
  6. Check tire pressure: Inflate to 15 PSI (front) and 10 PSI (rear).

WARNING! Do not add fuel or oil near open flames. Ensure tractor is on level surface during setup.

Controls & Operation

Familiarize yourself with controls before starting.

  1. Ignition switch: Turn key to START position.
  2. Brake pedal: Press to stop; engage parking brake by pressing fully down.
  3. Hydrostatic drive pedal: Press forward to move forward, reverse to move backward.
  4. PTO switch: Engage to spin cutting blades.
  5. Cutting height lever: Adjust while stationary.
  6. Throttle control: Set to FAST for operation.

CAUTION! Always sit in seat when starting. Keep feet away from moving parts.

First 5 hours: Change engine oil (break-in period).

Every 25 hours: Check air filter; clean or replace if dirty.

Every 50 hours: Change engine oil and oil filter.

Every 100 hours: Replace spark plug; check blade sharpness.

Seasonally: Lubricate pivot points; check battery charge.

Cutting Deck Operation

For best cutting results, operate correctly.

  1. Engage PTO only at full throttle.
  2. Adjust cutting height based on grass condition.
  3. Overlap passes by 2-3 inches for even cut.
  4. Disengage PTO when crossing driveways or gravel.
  5. Clean deck after each use to prevent rust and buildup.

Tip: Sharpen blades every 25 hours for clean cuts.

Engine Care

Proper engine maintenance extends life.

  1. Oil: Check level before each start; change every 50 hours.
  2. Air filter: Clean foam pre-cleaner every 25 hours; replace paper element if dirty.
  3. Fuel: Use fresh gasoline; add fuel stabilizer for storage.
  4. Spark plug: Gap at 0.030 inches; replace annually.
  5. Cooling fins: Keep clean to prevent overheating.

WARNING! Never check oil or fuel while engine is hot. Allow to cool.

Storage & Winterization

Prepare tractor for off-season storage.

  1. Add fuel stabilizer to tank; run engine for 5 minutes.
  2. Change engine oil and filter.
  3. Remove spark plug; add 1 tablespoon of oil into cylinder; pull starter cord slowly to coat.
  4. Clean entire tractor, especially cutting deck.
  5. Store in dry, covered area; disconnect battery.

CAUTION! Do not store with fuel in tank without stabilizer.
