Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts against the included packing list. Assembly requires basic tools (wrenches, screwdriver).

  1. Handlebar & Steering Wheel: Attach steering wheel to column, secure with provided bolt. Connect handlebar controls.
  2. Seat: Position seat on frame, align mounting holes, and secure with bolts and washers.
  3. Cutting Deck: Attach deck to mower chassis using front lift rod and rear hanging brackets. Install drive belt.
  4. Battery (Electric Start): Connect red (+) cable to positive terminal, black (-) to negative terminal. Secure battery in tray.
  5. Wheels & Tires: Mount rear wheels onto axle shafts, secure with lug nuts. Inflate tires to 12 PSI.

WARNING! Do not add fuel or attempt to start engine during assembly. Ensure all bolts are tightened to specified torque.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, complete the following setup steps.

  1. Add Engine Oil: Use SAE 10W-30 (approx. 1.8 quarts). Check dipstick, fill to "Full" mark.
  2. Add Fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum). Fill tank to just below neck.
  3. Check Tire Pressure: Inflate all tires to 12 PSI for optimal traction and deck leveling.
  4. Adjust Cutting Height: Set deck to desired height using adjustment lever (test on flat surface).
  5. Break-In Period: Operate at varied speeds (not full throttle) for first 5 hours. Change oil after first 5 hours.

CAUTION! Always check for oil leaks and loose parts before starting. Operate outdoors only.

Specifications

Controls and Operation

Familiarize yourself with all controls before operation.

Dashboard & Controls: Ignition Key, Throttle/Choke Lever, Headlight Switch, Cup Holder, Hour Meter.

Operation Steps:

  1. Perform pre-operation check (oil, fuel, tire pressure, debris).
  2. Set parking brake. Ensure PTO (deck engagement) is OFF.
  3. Insert key, turn to ON. Set throttle to midway, engage choke if cold.
  4. Turn key to START (or pull recoil). Release key once engine starts.
  5. Disengage parking brake. Select gear (1-6). Slowly release clutch to move.
  6. To engage cutting deck, move PTO lever to ON position while engine is at full throttle.
  7. To stop, disengage PTO, depress clutch, engage brake, turn key to OFF.

Safety Interlocks: Mower will not start if parking brake is not set or if PTO is engaged. Engine will shut off if operator leaves seat with PTO engaged.

Cutting & Performance

For best cutting results, follow these guidelines.

  1. Deck Height: Adjust based on grass type and season. Higher in summer heat, lower for spring/fall.
  2. Cutting Patterns: Alternate direction each mow to prevent grass matting and promote even growth.
  3. Mulching: Install mulch plug. Ensure deck underside is clean for proper airflow.
  4. Bagging: Attach grass bag. Empty when bag is 2/3 full to maintain suction.
  5. Side Discharge: Install discharge chute for tall or wet grass.
  6. Slope Operation: Mow across slopes, not up and down. Do not operate on slopes greater than 15 degrees.

Tip: Mow when grass is dry for a cleaner cut and to prevent clogging.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures longevity and performance.

IntervalTask
Before each useCheck engine oil level, tire pressure, for loose hardware, and deck for debris.
First 5 hoursChange engine oil and oil filter (break-in period).
Every 25 hoursChange engine oil. Check air filter, clean/replace if dirty. Lubricate pivot points.
Every 50 hoursReplace air filter. Check spark plug, clean/adjust gap or replace. Check blade condition and sharpness.
Every 100 hoursReplace spark plug. Check drive belt tension and condition. Grease axle bearings.
SeasonallySharpen or replace blades. Clean fuel system. Check battery charge (electric start).

Blade Sharpening: Remove blade, sharpen at original angle (balance after sharpening).

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents fuel system damage and corrosion.

  1. Fuel System: Add fuel stabilizer to tank, run engine for 5 minutes to circulate. Either drain tank completely or fill to top to prevent condensation.
  2. Oil: Change oil and filter at end of season (contaminants are acidic).
  3. Battery: For electric start models, remove battery, clean terminals, store in cool dry place on a trickle charger.
  4. Cleaning: Thoroughly clean underside of deck, wheels, and engine area. Let dry completely.
  5. Storage Location: Store in a cool, dry place, protected from the elements. Engage parking brake and block wheels.

CAUTION! Never store mower with fuel in tank without stabilizer. Gasoline degrades and can clog carburetor.

Safety Information

Read and understand all safety rules before operation.

DANGER! Rotating blades can cause severe injury or death. Keep hands and feet away from deck at all times.
