Assembly Instructions

  5. Add trimmer line: Feed two 0.095-inch diameter trimmer lines through eyelets in head.

WARNING! Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation. Do not operate without guard installed.

First-Time Operation Setup

Before first start, complete assembly and add fuel/oil.

  1. Add engine oil: Remove oil fill cap/dipstick; add SAE 10W-30 oil to full mark.
  2. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum). Do not mix with oil.
  3. Prime engine: Press primer bulb 5-7 times until fuel is visible in bulb.

Fuel & Oil System

Fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline only. Do not mix oil with gasoline. Oil: Check level before each use; change every 25 operating hours or seasonally.

  1. Check oil: Ensure unit is level; remove dipstick; oil should be at FULL mark.
  2. Change oil: Run engine 5 minutes to warm oil; drain via drain plug; refill with 10W-30.
  3. Fuel storage: Add fuel stabilizer if storing over 30 days; run engine 2 minutes to circulate.

Tip: Never refuel while engine is hot. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.

Cutting Head & Line Replacement

Bump feed head advances line automatically.

  1. Stop engine and allow to cool.
  2. Remove spool: Press tabs on head and remove spool cover.
  3. Remove old line: Clean debris from spool.
  4. Wind new line: Cut two 10-foot lengths of 0.095-inch line. Insert ends into anchor holes; wind in direction of arrows.
  5. Reassemble: Feed line ends through eyelets; snap cover back on.

WARNING! Wear gloves when handling trimmer line. Use only recommended line diameter.

Maintenance Schedule

Before each use: Check oil level, inspect for loose fasteners, check cutting head. Every 25 hours: Change engine oil, clean air filter, inspect spark plug. Seasonally: Replace air filter, replace spark plug, lubricate drive shaft.

Storage Instructions

For storage over 30 days: Add fuel stabilizer to tank; run engine 2 minutes. Drain fuel tank and carburetor. Change engine oil. Remove spark plug; add 1 teaspoon oil into cylinder; pull starter cord slowly; reinstall plug. Clean unit thoroughly; store in dry, covered area.
