Assembly & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach the guide bar and chain: Place bar over studs, loop chain over sprocket and bar, adjust tension.
  2. Fill with fuel mixture: Use fresh 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke oil mix (see section 6).
  3. Fill chain oil tank: Use high-quality bar and chain oil.
  4. Check all fasteners: Ensure bar nuts, handles, and covers are securely tightened.

WARNING! Never assemble or adjust the chainsaw while the engine is running. Wear cut-resistant gloves.

Safety Instructions

Read and understand all safety warnings before operation.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and chainsaw chaps.
  2. Clear work area: Ensure no bystanders, pets, or obstacles within 15 feet.
  3. Check chain brake: Verify it engages properly before each use.
  4. Carry safely: Always carry with engine off, bar pointed backward and away from body.
  5. Never operate: On a ladder, in a tree, or in wet/icy conditions unless trained.

CAUTION! Kickback is a major cause of injury. Keep firm grip, do not cut with tip, and use reduced-kickback chain.

Specifications

Controls and Components

Main Controls: Front Handle with throttle trigger and lockout, Rear Handle, Stop Switch, Choke Lever, Primer Bulb, Chain Brake Lever, Side-Access Chain Tensioner.

Operation: Throttle trigger (with lockout) controls engine speed. Chain brake lever (front guard) stops chain rotation if activated. Choke lever and primer bulb aid cold starting.

Maintenance Points: Air filter cover, Spark plug, Chain catcher, Muffler, Fuel and oil caps, Bar nuts.

Fuel & Oil Mixing

Use fresh unleaded gasoline (minimum 89 octane) mixed with high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a 50:1 ratio.

  1. Use a clean, approved fuel container.
  2. Add 2.6 fl oz (77 ml) of 2-stroke oil to 1 gallon (3.78 L) of gasoline.
  3. Shake container thoroughly before filling chainsaw.
  4. Never use old fuel mix (over 30 days).
  5. Fill chain oil tank with dedicated bar and chain oil only.

Tip: Never use automotive motor oil or diesel fuel. Store fuel mix in a cool, dry place.

Starting & Operation

Starting Procedure (Cold Engine):

  1. Place saw on flat, clear ground.
  2. Engage chain brake by pushing lever forward.
  3. Move choke lever to FULL CHOKE position.
  4. Press primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible.
  5. Pull starter rope briskly 2-3 times until engine "pops".
  6. Move choke lever to HALF CHOKE.
  7. Pull starter rope until engine starts.
  8. Allow to warm up at idle for 30 seconds, then disengage chain brake.

WARNING! Always start with chain brake engaged. Keep hands away from chain. Do not drop-start.

Chain Maintenance

Chain Sharpening: Use a round file (5/32" or 4.0mm) and file guide. Maintain 30° cutting angle. File all cutters evenly.

Chain Tension: Check when cold. Chain should be snug against bar but pull freely by hand. Adjust via side-access tensioner when bar nuts are slightly loose.

Bar Maintenance: Clean bar groove regularly. Flip bar every 5 hours of use for even wear.

Storage & Care

Long-Term Storage:

  1. Drain all fuel from tank and run engine until it stops.
  2. Remove spark plug, add 1 teaspoon of 2-stroke oil into cylinder, pull starter slowly 2-3 times, reinstall plug.
  3. Clean entire saw, especially air filter and cooling fins.
  4. Remove chain, clean and soak in oil. Store in a dry place.
  5. Cover and store in a cool, dry location.

CAUTION! Never store with fuel in the tank for more than 30 days. Fuel can degrade and damage engine.
