Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts and inspect for damage. Assemble on a clean, flat surface.

  1. Attach the shaft: Insert the lower shaft into the engine housing and secure with provided bolts.
  2. Install the handle: Slide the D-handle onto the shaft at your preferred height and tighten the clamp.
  3. Attach the cutting head: Secure the trimmer head to the end of the shaft, ensuring it locks in place.
  4. Install the shoulder strap: Connect the strap hooks to the designated attachment points on the trimmer.
  5. Install the safety guard: Slide the guard onto the shaft above the cutting head and secure.

WARNING! Ensure all fasteners are tightened securely before operation. Do not operate if any parts are loose or damaged.

First-Time Operation

Before starting, ensure proper fuel mixture is prepared and all safety checks are complete.

  1. Fuel Preparation: Mix fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum) with 2-cycle engine oil at a 40:1 ratio (see specifications).
  2. Fill the tank: Add the mixed fuel to the transparent fuel tank. Do not overfill.
  3. Starting Procedure: Set the ON/OFF switch to ON. Press the primer bulb 5-10 times. Set the choke to FULL. Pull the starter cord briskly until the engine fires. Move choke to HALF and pull again. Once running, move choke to RUN.
  4. Warm-up: Allow the engine to run at idle for 30-60 seconds before applying throttle.

CAUTION! Operate only in a well-ventilated area. Keep bystanders and pets at a safe distance.

Controls and Settings

Primary controls are located on the engine housing and handle.

Engine Housing: ON/OFF Switch, Choke Lever (RUN/HALF/FULL), Primer Bulb, Fuel Tank Cap.

Handle: Throttle Trigger with Lockout, Handle Clamp for adjustment.

Operation: Squeeze the throttle lockout and trigger simultaneously to increase engine speed. Release to idle.

Adjustments: Handle height can be adjusted for user comfort. Shoulder strap length is adjustable.

Fuel & Oil Mixing

This engine requires a precise gasoline and oil mixture. Use only fresh, unleaded gasoline (87 octane or higher) and high-quality 2-cycle engine oil certified for air-cooled engines.

  1. Use a clean, approved fuel container.
  2. For a 40:1 ratio, add 3.2 US fl oz of oil to 1 US gallon of gasoline.
  3. Close the container and shake vigorously for one minute to mix thoroughly.
  4. Label the container clearly as "Mixed Fuel".

DANGER! Never use straight gasoline or automotive motor oil. This will cause severe engine damage and void the warranty. Do not mix fuel near open flames or sparks.

Operating the Trimmer

Proper technique ensures efficiency and safety.

  1. Starting: Follow the First-Time Operation procedure.
  2. Trimming Motion: Hold the trimmer at a slight angle so the tip of the line contacts the grass. Use a smooth, sweeping motion from side to side.
  3. Advancing Line: Gently bump the cutting head on the ground while the engine is at high speed to release more trimmer line.
  4. Edging: To edge along sidewalks, tilt the trimmer so the line is vertical.
  5. Stopping: Release the throttle trigger and allow the engine to idle. Press and hold the ON/OFF switch to STOP.

WARNING! Always wear eye protection, long pants, and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Do not operate near gravel, rocks, or hard objects that can be thrown by the line.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures long life and optimal performance.

TaskFrequency
Check and clean air filterEvery 10 hours of use
Check spark plugEvery 25 hours of use
Clean cooling finsEvery season
Inspect fuel lines and filterEvery season
Grease gearbox (if applicable)Every 50 hours of use
Replace trimmer lineAs needed

CAUTION! Always disconnect the spark plug wire before performing any maintenance.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Short-Term (under 30 days): Add fuel stabilizer to the tank and run the engine for 2 minutes to circulate it.
  2. Long-Term (over 30 days): Drain all fuel from the tank and carburetor. Run the engine until it stops from fuel starvation.
  3. Clean the unit thoroughly, removing all grass and debris.
  4. Store in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children.

CAUTION! Never store the trimmer with fuel in the tank in an enclosed area due to fire and fume hazards.

Safety Information

Read and understand all instructions before use. Failure to follow warnings can result in serious injury.

DANGER! Risk of fire, explosion, burn, and projectile injury. Operate with extreme caution.
